Predicting
Earthquakes
In my last
post, I wrote that the full moon in Virgo on 2-28-2010 would
relate to matters connected with the earth, as the sign Virgo
rules matters associated with the earth/Mother nature. I also
wrote the Mercury-Neptune conjunction relates to adverse weather
conditions and more accidents than usual-water. The obvious result
is the earthquake in Chile and the subsequent alarming of the
Pacific Coast rim with fears of a tsunami as a direct result
of the earthquake. But, in true Neptunian fashion the tsunami
did not reach the dreaded peak that had been feared and Hawaii
was not devastated.
The earthquake in Chile is not a strict result of the full moon.
The bigger planetary influence at play is Saturn square Pluto,
a transit that started as soon as Saturn moved into Virgo October
31, 2009. The square has been within a few degrees of being exact
since it started. This configuration will continue within a few
degrees until April when Saturn retrogrades into a direct opposition
with Uranus at 28 degrees of Pisces, at which time we enter another
period fraught with risk of further earth changes. The transit
will also relate to matters connected with business, banking,
work, jobs health and health care issues and reform. It will
represent another stressful period in the 21 months remaining
leading up to the much publicized-speculated about year of 2012.
Much of the
year 2010 will be a year of unexpected events-surprises, some
of them connected to the earth and natural disasters, as we approach
the year 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar. This is a year
of change. Between now and 2012 we will see future events connected
with the earth and with water. As we approach 2011 we may start
to run out of water, and/or the water will turn colder, resulting
in harsher winters with water in the form of ice and snow.
Before the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 13, we
were moving toward another very important full moon and an eclipse
in Capricorn on January 15, 2010. Capricorn rules matters connected
to the earth-land-oil, as well as business. Eclipses are powerful
astrological events that are known to 'set off' planetary configurations,
and the eclipse 'set off' the powerful Saturn-Pluto square, triggering
this massive earthquake.
On January
12, I was talking to California based psychic Ness, (Readings
By Ness - http://www.readingsbyness.com) who said, "I feel we are going
to have another earthquake very soon. Perhaps within 24-48 hours,
and I feel, an 'earthquake in the water.' So, I knew then, the
potential for earth changes and disasters I saw in the stars
would come to soon come to pass. Ness has been predicting earthquakes
for years, and I have seen this occur on several occasions. She
has the gift of being in tune with nature and Mother Earth speaks
to her when something is about to happen. She became aware of
this gift as a child when her Grandmother began teaching her
about listening to nature.
The disaster
in Haiti has been of monumental proportion in terms of human
life. The most the people there can hope for is that the international
community will continue to be as generous as it has been as time
goes on and rebuilding starts in earnest.
Ness's prediction
about the earthquake in the water came to pass on February 27,
a direct result of the full moon/Saturn-Pluto square setting
off another earthquake in Chili, then sending ripples throughout
the Pacific Rim area. Ness sees more earthquakes, especially
around the Pacific Rim, and further risk of tsunamis in the future.
She has studied earth and climate change for years and predicts
the events leading up to 2012 are going to be focused on the
earth, among other situations that will occur. She believes the
earth is in a cyclical stage and the climate will become colder,
leading up to shortages of food as a direct result of the climate
change. Food crops in Florida have already been affected by an
unusually cold winter this year. She says this is only the beginning
and the price of some foods will skyrocket, such as citrus fruit
and coffee.
Ness is not the only person who believes this. Many famous and
well known astrologers are predicting food shortages over the
next few years. The Saturn-Pluto square is separating this month,
but that does not mean some other planetary configuration may
set it off again. Saturn opposes Uranus again, and April 23-May
1, this configuration is exact. We have seen this alignment in
the past and when it occurred on November 5, 2008 at 16 degrees,
America elected its first black President. This will be the final
opposition in these signs and it will relate to change that can
be of a disruptive nature as the energy of Saturn the taskmaster,
collides with the unexpected, explosive energies of Uranus in
Pisces, revealing issues we are not yet aware of. And there is
always potential for further 'earth changes.'
When Saturn
moves forward and into Libra for the final time July 21, it will
collide in a square-struggles and obstacles with Pluto, the transformer
and regenerator in the sign Capricorn, the ruler of earth, land,
mining, oil, banks, and business. This time, a new element will
be introduced. Uranus, the planet of sudden, explosive, unexpected
surprises moves to the 0 degree of Aries and is exact opposing
Saturn, squaring Pluto July 23-August 14, for the first time.
On June 26, 2010, we have another eclipse in the sign ruling
matters connected with the earth-Capricorn, at 4 degrees, thus
increasing our chances of seeing another disaster relating to
'earth changes.' Not only is it a complete change as Uranus moves
out of Pisces, it is the 0 degree of the first sign of the zodiac,
that is significant within itself. Thus, Uranus in Aries opposes
Saturn, squares Pluto and Pluto and Saturn square each other
in what is called a giant T-square.
Uranus moving into Aries, is a huge change, after the planet
of unexpected rebellions, explosive surprises and catastrophes
moves from the spiritual peaceful laid back sign of Pisces to
the sign ruling the self. It represents 'the newborn individual'
in all its glory and trauma, as the focus is placed upon the
self-the individual will. Certain individuals in the world will
make their presence known. Not only is the sign Aries the complete
opposite of the lessons of Pisces, it is at a critical degrees.
Critical degrees for cardinal signs are 0, 13 and 26 degrees.
In moving from 29 degrees of Pisces to the 0 degree Aries point
the Uranian energy moves from the gentler Pisces to a degree
considered crisis-oriented. Aries takes the energy of Uranus
and moves it toward a situation that will manifest outward events
in the world. Aries represents, the 'I am' and the 0 point has
been called the Alpha and the Omega and representative of the
world at large. Renowned astrologer-author Celeste Teal calls
it, 'an event/events that will affect the world at large.'

Believe
Half of What You Hear
Full Moon in
Virgo
This month's full moon occurs on Sunday, February 28, at 9 degrees
of Virgo. Virgo is the natural ruler of the sixth house of work
and health and in a general sense we will all be dealing with
these issues. It is about issues relating to work of all types,
diet, health and healthcare and fitness, and the earth itself.
These will be the basic themes of this moon within our personal
lives and the world at large.
In the US, the Senate's newest member broke ranks with fellow
Republicans to support a Democratic jobs bill to end debate and
vote on passage of the bill, and there will be much debate about
healthcare reform in America this week. There will be news relating
to health, diet, and matters pertaining to the earth. But, don't
believe all you hear, as Mercury conjuncts Neptune on Saturday,
February 27 at 26 degrees of Aquarius and is within 2 degrees
on Sunday. Mercury rules communication and speech and Neptune
is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion, as well as
lies and deception. Lies, secrets and untruths may be revealed.
Test any new idea for validity before incorporating it into your
life at this time. The transit also relates to drugs-alcohol,
medications, drug companies and disease. Mercury-Neptune is good
for imaginative ideas and creativity, psychic/metaphysical activity
and insight into future events. It is poor for formulating new
agreements/contracts, and it relates to deception in communication
and impractical ideas. Use good judgment in issues relating to
transportation, as there may be more accidents than usual, and
some may be affected by adverse weather conditions.
Ancient Symbols
In ancient astrological texts, the sign Virgo was symbolized
as "the virgin lying prostrate; in one hand she holds a
apica (seed wheat) and in the other a branch-referred to as a
rod, the rod is sometimes referred to as blossoming as Arron's
rod. The tree is referred to as the tree of life in the garden
of Eden. The prostrate virgin lies at David's feet at 30 degrees
of Leo at the foot of Leo. The sphinx of Egypt is seemingly a
combination of Leo and Virgo, half woman, half lion, the union
and spirit of matter, the vital rays of the Sun uniting with
the natural or earthly body to bring forth fruit from the overshadowing
of the Lord of Hosts.
Mars Goes Direct
Mars, the planet that governs our actions, and known as 'the
God of War,' has been retrograde since December 20, 2009. Retrograde
Mars creates slower energy, ineffective action, and subtle forms
of manipulation that can occur at this time, as opposed to open
conflicts. Mars will remain retrograde through March 10, when
it goes direct at 0 degrees of Leo. Mars is at 1 degree of Leo
throughout the week, retrograding to it's final degree of 0 on
Saturday, February 28. It will remain at that degree, going direct,
then advancing to 1 degree,on March 22. Mars will remain in Leo,
repeating it's entire cycle through that sign until June 6, 2010.
Those most affected by Mars going direct at 0 degrees will be
Aires, Gemini, Sagittarius and Leo's born within the first 1-4
days of the start of their Sun Sign. Those affected most adversely
will be Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio's born within the first
1-4 days days of their Sun sign, or those with personal planets
being affected by Mars at 0 degrees of Leo.
Meaning of
Sabian Symbol
The Sabian symbols were produced by clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler
in 1925, and are used to describe the symbolic meaning of each
degree of the zodiac. The meaning of the 0-1 degree of Leo is
characterized as, "Blood Rushes To A Man's Head As His Vital
Energies Are Mobilized Under The Spur Of Ambition." So,
as Mars turns direct on the 10th of March activities and actions
will take on a much faster pace than we have grown accustomed
to over the past few months, and projects and situations put
on the back burner may start to move forward. Conflict that has
been secretive and or hidden may well start to come out into
the open at this time.

Last
Quarter/The Fruits of Our Labor (And Moon Cycles)
This past weekend's
full moon in Leo was all about relationships, love affairs, and/or
issues relating to children. Leo is the natural ruler of the
fifth house of love affairs/friends/children and many have gone
through trying experiences with relationships. It was not a quiet
full moon as it conjuncted Mars, the God of War, and the day
before (Thursday) the Sun opposed Mars, as well.
If you watched
the news this weekend you may have noticed the amount coverage
once Presidential candidate John Edwards received concerning
his affair, which led to his wife's announcement she was leaving
him, after he finally admitted the love child born to his mistress
was actually his, and (surprise?) his former aide is now claiming
that sex tapes exist between John Edwards and his one time girlfriend.
Nothing hush, hush here-very much a Leo fifth house matter--love
affairs and children!
As the moon travels through it's different phases, the we react
and respond accordingly. The last quarter of the Leo full moon
is on Friday February 5th at 6:48PM EST, at 17 degrees of Scorpio.
The last quarter of the full moon represents the conclusion of
the previous week's full moon and can point to a type of crisis.
The last quarter of this of this full moon will effect those
the most who have personal planets in the fixed signs of Taurus,
Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius between 15 and 19 degrees.
After becoming
aware of the events of the full moon we reflect on what the energy
has meant to us and come to a type of conclusion as to what we
do next and come to understand in greater totality how the energy
of the previous full moon has effected us. It is time to finish
up the details relating to the full moon and to previous new
moon of January 15, and come to an understanding of what your
options are. This is a time to finish matters up, not for new
beginnings. That time will come in approximately two weeks when
we will have a new Moon in Aquarius at 25 degrees on February
14.
The phases of the moon are defined as New, Crescent, First Quarter,
Gibbous, Full, Disseminating, Last Quarter, or Balsamic, and
finally void of course moon, and they correspond with the stages
in the planting cycle, beginning with the potential represented
by the seed planted in the ground. Thus events in our life unfold
as the same way the seed takes root and begins to grow.
The New moon corresponds with new beginnings, the planting of
the seed-the final result or outcome, yet unknown.
Next, is the Crescent Moon when we begin to actualize events
that began on the the start of the new moon and we begin to actualize
it's purpose. In other words, the seed begins to contend with
it's new environment which can seem hostile at the start.
The third phase is the First Quarter Moon. Ancients saw this
moon as the time the seed begins to put out leaves and branches
and growth speeds up. In life, we become builders of structures
at this time.
Next, is the Gibbons moon, representing the formation of the
bud, with the later promise of the flower. You become the creator
of your destiny, drawn to accomplishment and perfection of your
goal, no longer content with status quo.
During the Full Moon, the flower emerges. You become aware of
your effects upon others and they respond accordingly. You may
receive some form of clarity about your situation.
During the Disseminating Moon, the first fruit is harvested.
You have knowledge of the result of your plans/actions.
The last quarter is the beginning of the end for the plant. The
last of the fruit is harvested, the plant starts to wither in
preparation for a period of hibernation. The plant begins to
bear seed for the next cycle. Your results are known, conclusions
are drawn, and it is time to move forward.
The Balsamic Moon, the final phase, the Moon is waning and halfway
between Last Quarter and New Moon. This is the time of the maturation
of the seed, while the rest of the plant dies and energy becomes
concentrated in the seed being prepared for the next cycle. Your
life corresponds to the seed in subtle fashion, preparing for
the next cycle to begin. You may begin to feel the urge to strike
out again, shaking off the past, looking to the future.
Lastly, there is the void of course moon, usually lasting a day
or so. The moon 'wanders,' after making her last aspect to another
planet, until she enters her next sign. Events often seem difficult
and it is not the best time to make decisions, as they may be
subject to change.

Full
Moon in Leo-The Show Must Go On!
This month's
full moon occurs on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 1;18 AM, EST
at 10 degrees of Leo. Leo is the natural ruler of the fifth house
of children, friends and love affairs, so it is within these
areas in a general sense, we will experience much of the full
moon energy. Leo is the sign of the showman (or woman) and the
energy is dramatic and intense. It is time to experience the
child within yourself! Just don't resort to childish actions
or manipulations, and be aware that you could experience these
types of behavior from others' around you during the peak hours
of this full moon.
Full moon energy starts to occur days before the full moon becomes
exact, and most astrologers use 3-4 days before and after in
terms of timing for the events that will play out.
On Wednesday, January 27, as we are coming into the full moon,
Venus, the planet of love and money will oppose Mars at 11 degrees
of Aquarius. This transit will involve shifts in the financial
markets, and men and women may have opposing viewpoints. As a
matter of fact, it may represent a clash between the two sexes.
And speaking of sex, sexual energies may be heightened, but the
energy is purely sexual in nature, as opposed to warm and loving.
The attraction may be there, but it is up to you which way to
direct the energy, and misunderstandings can occur on a number
of fronts, especially in the realms of love and money.
Thursday, January 28, the Sun opposes Mars, creating an atmosphere
prone to agitation, ego's out of control, and the potential for
accidents, even violence on the world stage. Mars can make you
feel that it is important to express your feelings, especially
angry feelings. The best way that I have found to deal with Mars
is to let the energy pass; let a few hours or days go by and
see how the difference of a day changes things. Usually the urge
to express yourself at all costs changes, and the things that
seemed important to say, often are not -- given 24 hours. No
matter how you cut the pie, this volatile Mars energy is coming
in on top of the full moon creating tension and agitation that
must be acknowledged one way or another.
As the full
moon is at 10 degrees of Leo, it is within 1 degree of being
conjunct Mars at 9 degrees of Leo. This is a super-charged full
moon with a lot of energy that must be used constructively in
some way, as emotions and feelings will be running at an all
time high. It has the potential, if the energy is not used constructively,
of turning volatile and we will see this energy play out one
way or another on the news.
Of course the most important transit that is occurring along
with this full moon is the Saturn-Pluto square that is exact
through the first 9 days of February, and remains within orb
throughout this winter. This transit doesn't need anything more
to set it off, but that is precisely what a full moon will do.
Fortunately the full moon in Leo isn't squaring or opposing this
configuration, but it will add a great deal more energy to it,
nevertheless.
Saturn squaring Pluto creates situations involving a great deal
of frustration in the business world, as well as relationships
of all types. It creates delays and points out what our limitations
are. I refer to it as a 'ruthless force', as the energy of Saturn
and Pluto create an inability to move forward. It is dangerous
and volatile and the world will be a better place when this square
passes. The energy will start to diminish and lighten up some
after the first 9 days of February. But, the energy of this transit
isn't gone until it's gone. The combination is so volatile individually
and in the world, the last time we had a hard transit between
Saturn and Pluto was in the days preceding 9-11.
So, be careful, don't get too carried away with anything and
use the energy to it's fullest potential. The highest and best
possible use of full moon energy in Leo is to discover the inner
child within yourself and finding out what that little voice
inside really seeks. In terms of activities, we can all use a
little more fun these days, and the fifth house represents children,
social activities, restaurants, wherever you go for fun! Good
luck!
